Morning Star achieved second place at the 2023 Crick Boat Show, following Oakums’ first-place results with Larkrise in 2021 and Evenstar in 2022.
The result recognised a completed boat in which electric propulsion, off-grid energy and luxury narrowboat fit-out were developed as one coherent commission.

The installation was considered alongside domestic energy use, monitoring, charging and the space required for life aboard. The result demonstrates why an electric canal boat works best when the complete boat is designed around its energy needs.
